From a series of plein air paintings from Cozumel, Mexico
-- a favorite place to paint (and dive). But you could be
anywhere with hot sun, clear water, and bold passionate
color. "The tropics are a mood, not a place."
ABSTRACTS.
The great painter Cezanne teaches me to see shapes, blocks
of color, and natural forms in the landscape. As I
challenge myself to simplify the landscape I see, it
becomes more abstract.
This is my current artistic direction: expressionistic
landscape, simplifying the forms for greater empact and
emotional power.
