2023 Instructor Biography.


Jane Barnard is a passionate painter and supportive teacher, a member of the Wisconsin Watercolor Society, Wisconsin Visual Artists and Wisconsin Plein Air Painters. She has a master's degree in English from Marquette University. Her studies include a diploma in French from the University of Paris (Sorbonne), the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and workshops from master watercolorists. She has led two Art Workshops to Provence, France. She completed a residency at The Lemon Tree House in Tuscany, Italy.

Jane’s teaching style is gentle, helpful, and sprinkled with humor. She encourages students to trust their own artistic vision and gives individual guidance and practical tips to stretch their skills.

She teaches watercolor workshops at The Clearing in Door County and the Monroe Street Arts Center in Madison, Wisconsin. She was the 2022 juror for the Wisconsin Regional Arts Program, Madison.
